Our newest installation accessory is the JD-1 Mounting Clip. This clip may be used for ceiling, pipe, or wall mount applications, as well as all corners. The fastener is a stainless steel clip that wraps around the detector and is highly durable. Specifically designed to help simplify linear heat installations. The installation temperature range for the JD-1 clip is -76°F to 572°F (-60°C to 300°C).
One of the most versatile fasteners is the WAW Clip. This clip may be used for ceiling or wall mount applications, as well as all corners. The fastener is a clip which wraps around the detector and is available in either nylon (WAW-N) or polypropylene (WAW-P) material depending upon the installation environment. As a general rule, nylon WAW clips are preferred for applications where the ambient temperature is expected to be low, such as in freezer warehouses. The installation temperature range for the WAW Series fasteners is -40°F (40°C) to 190°F (88°C).
OHS clips are available in several different configurations and are used mainly as an intermediate fastener between corner-mounted WAW Clips, which provide the main support.
- OHS-1: Galvanized steel, 3/16″ (4.8mm) diameter mounting hole
- OHS-SS: 304 Stainless steel, 1/4″ (6.4mm) diameter mounting hole
The BC-2 Series Beam Clamp assembly consists of a beam clamp, polypropylene WAW Clip, and snap button. The BC-2 utilizes a plated steel clamp and is recommended for general indoor use. These versatile fasteners may be used for mounting Protectowire on cable trays, conveyors, angle irons, I-beams, and bar joists.
The BC-3 Series Beam Clamp assembly consists of a beam clamp, nylon WAW Clip (type N) or a polypropylene WAW Clip (type P), and snap button. The BC-3 utilizes a heavy duty zinc plated clamp that is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. These versatile fasteners may be used for mounting Protectowire on cable trays, conveyors, angle irons, I-beams, and bar joists.
The RMC Series L-Bracket consists of a steel bracket, WAW Clip, and snap button and is often used for mounting Protectowire to the rim seals on floating roof tanks. The brackets are 6.7 inches (17.0 cm) long and contain 5 mounting holes which allow for multiple height adjustments of the detector’s installation position. The brackets are available in plated steel (type 2) or stainless steel (type 3) models, and may be used in a wide variety of common installations and applications.
The TR-5G Insulated Standoff can be used to install Protectowire on or above coal conveyors or from other applicable mechanical structures. The standoffs may be installed through holes in covers or brackets by means of the 1/4″-20 locknuts provided. In another type of installation, the standoffs may be connected to threaded rods suspended from the ceiling by means of coupling nuts (not provided). Since this fastener does not grasp the detector tightly, it is necessary to use other fasteners, such as WAW Clips, to place sufficient tension on the Protectowire to prevent it from drooping.
EMS-A-CO is used when drilling into mounting surfaces is prohibited or not possible, such as transformer surfaces. The adhesive mounting system consists of EMS cable mounts, PLT cable ties, and approved industrial adhesive. Constructed of black weather-resistant nylon it is suitable for outdoor use when used with approved adhesive. It should not be used in chemically harsh environments or in areas where temperatures are less than 0°F (-17°C) or exceed 180°F (82°C). This product requires the use of SIKAFLEX-291 adhesive for proper usage.
Used with EMS Cable Mounts, the PLT1S-CO is constructed of weather-resistant nylon suitable for outdoor use.
The SIKAFLEX-291 Industrial Adhesive is used with EMS Cable Mounts. It should not be used in chemically harsh environments or areas where temperatures are less than -40°F (-40°C) or exceed 194°F (90°C).
