How would you describe what you do at Protectowire FireSystems?
Over the years, I have taken on a lot of different roles for the company. In the past, I worked with product development and was directly involved with the Protectowire product itself. Currently, I work on the operations side of production and engineering.
I couldn’t live without my…
There aren’t many “things” that I actually could not live without. I am not materialistic in the sense that I do not tend to obsess over toys, cars, fancy tech equipment, etc.
What would you be doing if you were not at your current job?
When I was in school I thought for a while that I might want to be a corporate lawyer.
How do you recharge?
Lately, I have been reading more than I ever had in the past. My wife and I often go to the beach together and read to relax and recharge.
When you are not at work, you can find me…
My wife has a garden, so she and I spend a lot of time outside gardening on the weekends.
Something you’ve learned working for Protectowire.
I have learned a lot about the fire protection industry since working at Protectowire. My whole career, even before my current job, I have worked in this industry. It is a very small, specialized industry, but it is one that I find interesting in terms of protecting people’s lives. Although Protectowire is more industrial-oriented than some other companies in the industry, I love my job because I feel like I am working for a company that is doing something positive for others by protecting them. It seems as though those who get into the fire protection industry always stay in it.
What are three things still left on your bucket list?
I would like to go on a European river cruise, travel to both Spain and Italy, and go on an Alaskan cruise. I would also like to skydive, although that probably will not happen. I do think that it may be fun, though.
