Protectowire Specification
Wizard ® Introduction: This program is for preparing model
construction specifications for special hazard fire alarm
systems using Protectowire Linear Heat Detection Cable. The
program operates in the Windows 95/98 ® environment and will
prepare these specifications using either its own internal
word processor, or, if you have them installed on your
computer, the external word processors Word 97 ® or
WordPerfect 8.0 ®
Install the program:
1. Download the setup.exe file to a folder on your hard
drive
2. From your Windows taskbar click "Start" and select "Run".
3. Click "Browse" and point to the folder you downloaded
setup.exe to.
4. Double click on "setup.exe". Then click "OK""
5. The program will automatically install the program in the
"Program Files" directory.
6. After the installation is complete, if your system did
not restart, restart your system.
Operating the Program:
1. From your Windows taskbar click "Start" menu select
"Programs".
2. Select "Protectowire Specification Wizard".
3. The Specification Program will start.
4. After accepting the use agreement information a "Select
Specification Sections" screen will appear.
At this point you may either begin building a specification
or select the word processor to use.
Note: To change or select
the word processor click "Cancel". See "Selecting Word
Processor" below.
5.To begin building a
specification select the sections you want to create and
select "OK".
Selecting the Word
Processor:
1. From the "File" menu select the "Select Word Processor"
item, then select the word processor youprefer to use.
("None" selects an internal word processor in the program
which allows you to save text to a Rich Text Format (RTF)
document. The RTF document can then be edited using
virtually all current word processing programs.) Once this
selection is made, your selection will be stored in memory
and that word processor will remain selected for use until
you change it.
2. After selecting the word
processor start building a specification by selecting "New
Specification" from the "File" menu and the "Select
Specification Sections" screen will appear.
